Aqua Man in the Moonlight, a film by Robert Francis Curtis, was conceived entirely by accident. On the drift walk, I attempted to collect visual images of light passing through objects (such as trees, windows, holes in walls, etc.) but then it began to rain upon me. I changed my course of collection to focus solely on light reflected through or on light.
When I returned home to view what footage I had collected, I saw that there were in fact two different "worlds" in the night time. I pieced these images together, along with the sounds. The color world is the hustling frustrating world of reality, and the black and white world is the world that only comes through meditation.
It opens on the orange/yellow pavement because I like to think of this as the Wizard of Oz in reverse (color wise). I also chose to eliminate any type of closing or opening credits because I thought they took away from the images themselves.
